About the Program
The European Solidarity Corps is an EU initiative that encourages young people to engage in volunteering, solidarity, and community service across Europe. Participants gain practical experience, develop skills, and contribute to social cohesion and cultural exchange.

Who Can Participate
- Young people aged 18–30 interested in volunteering, cultural exchange, and community projects.

Duration & Flexibility

What We Offer
Through the European Solidarity Corps (ESC) and following the awarding of the Quality Label by SALTO South East Europe Resource Centre, Balkan Youth Activism (BYA) delivers high-quality volunteering opportunities that empower young people and strengthen communities across Europe.
International Volunteering Opportunities (Sending Role)
BYA enables young people to participate in ESC volunteering projects abroad by:
- Identifying suitable placements with trusted partner organisations
- Preparing participants for international mobility experiences
- Facilitating their active engagement in community-based projects
Volunteers have the opportunity to contribute to areas such as youth work, social inclusion, education, environment, and community development.
Preparation, Training & Ongoing Support
We ensure a comprehensive support system throughout the entire volunteering journey:
- Pre-departure preparation and orientation
- Guidance on intercultural learning and adaptation
- Continuous support during the activity
- Post-activity evaluation and reintegration support
Each participant is guided to maximize their learning outcomes and personal development.
Learning & Personal Development
Our programmes are designed to:
- Strengthen key competencies, including communication, teamwork, and problem-solving
- Enhance employability through practical, hands-on experience
- Support the recognition of learning through tools such as Youthpass
