Balkan Youth Activism Awarded European Solidarity Corps Quality Label (2026–2027)
Balkan Youth Activism (BYA) is pleased to announce that it has been officially awarded the Quality Label under the European Solidarity Corps Programme, following a thorough evaluation process conducted by SALTO South East Europe Resource Centre.
This recognition confirms that BYA meets the European standards required to actively contribute to the objectives of the European Solidarity Corps, particularly in promoting solidarity, active citizenship, and youth participation.
The Quality Label
- ✔️ Authorizes BYA to operate in a support (sending) role
- ✔️ Enables the organisation to send up to 5 volunteers per year
- ✔️ Is valid until 31 December 2027
Evaluation Highlights
The evaluation highlighted BYA's strong experience in:
- Youth engagement and non-formal education
- Inclusion of marginalized groups, including Roma youth and rural communities
- Implementation of Erasmus+ mobility and cooperation projects
- Collaboration with local stakeholders such as municipalities, schools, and youth centres
Future Development
At the same time, the process provided valuable recommendations for strengthening organisational capacity, particularly in view of a future application for the hosting role within the European Solidarity Corps.
BYA sees this achievement as an important milestone and a stepping stone toward expanding its international volunteering activities. The organisation remains committed to continuous learning, strengthening partnerships, and creating meaningful opportunities for young people across Europe.
